In order to analyze the Hilltop Algorithm we must first read it.
Hilltop Algo with explanations

Search Engine Optimization can be broken down into three main categories; on-page optimization, internal linking, and external linking.

On-page Optimization
Originally the most important factor in search engine optimization, on-page optimization has fallen to less significant role with the advent of Page Rank and similar technologies. On-page optimization is still important and crucial to building a successful website. A general rule of thumb is that every page in the site should have unique content for the title, keywords , description and headings. Each page should also have a couple of hundred words of content which describes what the page is about. this text should be filled with natural links that go to other sites as wella s linking to internal pages of the site itself. A good place to go for some guidelines about thesoptimization techniques is the section in Google for webmasters. Of these guidelines I think the most important to keep in mind while building or optimizing a web site for search engines is this "Create a useful, information-rich site and write pages that clearly and accurately describe your content". If you stick to this rule you won't have to keep worrying about all the little rules, tricks, filters, penalties the search engines have. Instead of spending the majority of your time tweaking little parts of your site to go up in the search engines, constantly build new content that is useful to you audience and improve on the content that is already there.

Internal Linking
This internal linking that I am speakin about is the linking within a specific site as well as linking between all of the sites on your host. One of Google's guidelines is to make each page within a site accessible by crawling text links from the home page of your site. A good way to ensure this is the use of site maps. Site maps can also be very useful to customers looking to quickly jump to specific information on your site. As far as linking between sites I suggest to follow the golden rule of seo and keep all internal linking between sites natural. For example do not overlink sites unnaturally since this may trip a search engine filter and links from your internal sites won't bring you up in the rankings anyway since sites are known to come from the same host. Even if seperate ip addresses are used for the site all sites coming form the same final block of ip are considered from the same host. If your ip is 66.155.159.10 then a site on 66.155.159.254 would be considered from the same host. This is not difficult for the search engines to do.

External Linking
External linking is no doubt the most important part of seo. It not coincidentally is the part of seo that you should spend the majority of your time on. External linking is defined as a link to your website from a non affiliated site on another host. Many people spend all of their time on reciprocal links. This mutual linking is very important, but linking to sites with related content to your site is the most important. Just a few months ago you could buy links for page rank and it would push you to the top of the results for you keywords. Now algorithms have been put into place that count these links from non-related sites very little in the results displayed. One very important part of external linking and also a graet place to start is submitting to popular link directories. The most famous of these is the Yahoo directory. This one way category specific link is very important for your site.
